We meet every Wednesday morning 7am (hence the name Dawn Busters). We must be crazy to get up that early every week. Then there’s the kicker; we start the day off with the Pledge of Allegiance and then . . . SINGING! It would be great if you really could call it singing. Imagine the worst Karaoke singer you ever heard; now multiply that by 40.
In any case, we meet at an Assisted Living Facility called Metairie Manor, which is on York Street in Metairie, Louisiana. If you live in the area, it’s that obnoxiously gigantic structure right off of Transcontinental south of the I-10. We follow a rigid meeting structure, but that's the only rigid thing about it! Our members routinely get heckled during reports (don't get me wrong, it's not crude insults, but more like spontaneous fun commentary).
The meetings last an hour and we almost always have an interesting guest speaker. They rarely come back (even though they get free breakfast) because of the singing and the heckling. Oh, by the way, the breakfast is $6 unless you're a visitor. Click on the map to the left and it will open googlemaps for directions.
